This book is a helpful guide to our way of thinking the thoughts that break the chains of fear. The author explains that we become miracle workers, and must begin with ourselves first.Marianne Williamson reminds us to think about the things we should be grateful for, why the mind is Cause and the world is Effect, and how we can change the world by changing the thoughts we have about it. In addition, the author talks about happiness and peace, how forgiveness can set us free of pain and if we provide the light, there shall be no darkness.On Day 1, God lives within my heart. Day 5 is Reflection, The Miracle Of Surrender, and advice on personal transformation, and healing. On Day 7, we need God's help, and he needs our hands and feet to work through us. On Day 17, no matter what the problem is, the solution is love. The author also directs the reader to focus on love, no matter what situation we are in. This inspiring book is comforting as it portrays ways to find peace and tranquility, is motivating, and is beautifully written. Highly recommended!
Many devotionals have come and gone my way. Many present high ideals, thoughts, and philosophies, even Christian ones, which I have appreciated. But "A YEAR OF MIRACLES" has come down to my human level and lifts me higher before the period signals the end of the day's devotion. Some have a short prayer at the end of the reading, some don't, but in each one there is a love and care and understanding about the human condition that encourages me and incites my aims and desires to grow closer to God and to others in a real and personal way.
I absolutely love this book! It is on my bed stand and I read it every single day. I like to read each day in the morning and think and apply that day's reading to my day. Marianne Williamson is a such a beautiful soul and I love her writing. I am grateful for your words of wisdom, experience and feminine sisterhood. I highly recommend this little book!
I was introduced to Marianne Williamson by reading "A Gift of Change" and I was hooked. This book of daily affirmations is beautifully written and includes prayers, affirmations, and readings about accepting ourselves and letting God into our lives. Using daily miracles to overcome fear. Her focus on leading with love to rid our psych of fear is a ongoing basis that you see throughout many of her publications. This book is an added bonus to the others that I own of hers.
Having a stressful job / life sometimes makes it difficult to stop the spinning wheels and the emotional churning residuals from the day. This was especially difficult as I faced the challenges of a new job in a new career, later in life. By taking just 5 minutes or less to be present enough to read one inspirational message (usually just a paragraph), I fall asleep much faster and stay asleep at night. Also, I have better perspective in dealing with others, going forward.
I am reading Marianne Williamson's latest gift of love to the world every morning before my "inner anchorperson" (my new phrase for my ego thanks to Dan Harris' fantastic book "10% Happier") can start its announcements of criticism and judgement. My copy of her book "Illuminata: A Return to Prayer" is so well read and cherished it sits, love-worn and prominently on my desk awaiting me to read each morning and for many other needs. In addition, I've purchased countless copies of her "Everyday Grace" to pass on. Williamson's message has never wavered from her central idea that we need to CHOOSE LOVE above all else, and I am grateful to start daily my own year of miracles through her most recent book.
This is what I always hoped someone would write about the Course. It takes Course concepts and explains them by presenting thoughts about the precepts that are for YOU/US, highly personalized. It gives us daily "ways to be" that draw us closer to our higher power and healing of "us" and the world. Thank you Marianne.
It is inspiring to read each day's passage. I love this book so much, I've sent copies to friends and they all love it, too. We are all reading the same day and sometimes discuss it. Each day's message is uplifting. I read it first thing in the morning so I can think about it throughout the day.
I love to read a passage of this book every morning before my daily meditation. It helps get me in the right frame of mind for my day ahead as a pediatric nurse which can be scary job. This book reminds me to let go of my own control and give it over to a larger power than myself...which helps me trust in my actions more as they are guided by love and not fear.
