If I could give less than 1 star, I would! I've skipped around this book, taking the tests in order of study. First rla, then social studies, followed by science, and now onto math. Let me just say, if you don't have a good understanding of these subjects before hand, this book could make it harder for you. I've found errors in the science chapters. I just took my first chapter review in math, and I found another error! They give you a problem to solve, but when you check your answers, you're wrong. Why? Because they changed the information in the question! I don't care if these are printing errors. When you sell a book for GED preparation, you should EDIT YOUR WORK. I want a refund!!!
If you are an average kid trying to get your GED this is WAY too complicated and i didn't even get past the first page before I was so intimidated it has yet to be reopened.. Not too happy with this buy but I am sure it will be a great book to some, just not me. I like to think of myself as of at least average intelligence but this book was beyond a lot of kids capabilities.
I got this book for my husband who has been putting off trying to take the GED test. This book has made him comfortable with relearning the material and confident that he will pass the test.
I felt it needed more examples and practice questions - perhaps a separate book with practice test questions would be nice to go with it. How well the book would be helpful would depend a great deal on the persons original education.

I originally borrowed this from the library but decided to buy it bc it was exactly what I needed and I didn't want a time limit to read it. I was home schooled but was told by one school in particular that I needed a GED bc my mom didn't follow a state certified program. I currently have 21 credits at a different college though so I already had knowledge of most of the subjects. I think if you just need to brush up that this book is perfect!
