While the other speed reading books are all rehashes of the same old techniques (that I've had no success with), this is different. Teaching the brain to read in phrases leads to fast comprehension of ideas, and increased speed naturally follows.I've purchased all three of the author's reading books. Unfortunately, seasonal demands are keeping me from throwing myself into learning at the moment. But a minute or so a day? That I can handle! This book gives me a perfect option for days like these. Soon I'll be able to commit more time each day, but right now this book meets me where I am and lets me start building a habit. Brilliant!
I've only been attempting Read Speeding for a few months now, I have personally tripled my speed since I started, it feels like a huge leap in improvement. You should definitely purchase this book, it's a very smooth method which is easy to adapt to if you are open to new ideas. I find myself using bits and pieces from what I learned in Read Speeding in other areas of my life also. He also replies quick to any questions you have for him, which is unlike most developers I've had the opportunity to chat with. It has been an all around pleasant experience. You can clearly tell from the many different pages in this book that a lot of work has been placed into it. Each phrase delicately highlighted with care. I appreciate his work in this Project, and for introducing everyone to this new method with his Programs and Books.
What an eye opener! When David Butler emphasized phrases and then explained the two methods of speed reading in about 3 pages I was all in. I really enjoyed when he explained when you know you are speed reading with a target in mind. I heard the numbers thrown around about how many words a person can read but it was never explained "HOW" it is done in a clear manner. This book helped connect some dots with other speed reading books I've come across. Highly recommend!
Really helps train you on how to look at text in blocks of phrases.
